Dating from the late 1600’s, this extra wide limestone mantel has a patina to which only centuries of reverent use can attest. The generous width is likely a sign that this was a true working hearth; not only providing warmth, but enough space that would easily roast entire pieces of game. The front piece has an unexpected and subtle “bombé” projection. Délicieux! Overall Measurements: 72”H x 92”W x 28+”D Firebox: 51”H x 69”W
