This beautiful piece stunts heavily carved details on the lentil and legs. This elegant Napoleon III style fireplace was made in the 19th century. Borrowing some elements in the Louis XV style , the design of this exceptional piece reveals the original work of a talented artist. The white marble of Carrara allows this fireplace to be worked like a sculpture. The legs are adorned with two proud caryatids depicting Summer and Autumn, whose fineness of execution reveals a profusion of details under each angle. The bodies have a remarkable smoothness. In the center crest sits a violin surrounded by grape clusters within a beautiful shell. The petals and curves of the shell are carved with beautiful reliefs. The entablature is strewn with flowers in bloom even in the hair of the caryatids, and their work in low and high relief brings an additional aesthetic subtlety. The feet are finally adorned with a beautiful acanthus leaf, and the sides of the fireplace are very curved, and paneled of an elegant central medallion.
