Antique French Limestone Trough (T-JRAQ)

An 18th century French limestone trough of generous width and strong, grounded proportions. Hand-carved from a single block of stone, its thick walls and broad rectangular basin give it a substantial architectural presence. The surface shows centuries of natural aging — softened edges, mineral staining, areas of pitting, and subtle tonal variation from warm beige to cool grey. Traces of lichen and weathering remain throughout, adding depth and authenticity that cannot be replicated.The interior basin reveals visible hand-tooling marks and one original drainage hole, making it perfectly suited for planting or repurposing as a fountain element. Its wide scale allows for fuller greenery, layered florals, or even a dramatic standalone water feature.
