Antique French Semi-Circular Trough (T-JWFB)

This 18th-century French semi-circular limestone trough was hand-carved from a single block of stone and originally used as a wall-mounted livestock feeding basin. The flat, cut-back rear reflects its original placement against a wall, while the front maintains an organic, rounded profile shaped by centuries of use. A single original drainage hole remains centered in the basin, an authentic detail from its agricultural function.

The interior offers generous depth and capacity, making it well-suited today as a garden planter, water feature, or sculptural focal piece. Natural wear, softened edges, tool marks, and layers of aged patina give the stone its rich texture and character—details that cannot be replicated.
